Earth Environmental & Geotechnical Head Office : Meet the Team Tomasz Opara Senior GeoEnvironmental Consultant

Earth Environmental & Geotechnical are delighted to introduce our new Senior Consultant, Tomasz Opara at its Stockport office. Tomasz joined Earth Environmental & Geotechnical as a Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant in June 2023.

Tomasz was raised in Gdynia (Poland) and attended Gdansk University where he studied Geology (B.Sc) and Marine geology (M.Sc.), as well as started PhD studies on Oceanology (However never finished for personal reasons). During PhD research Tomasz was responsible for conducting sea bed testing for magnetic susceptibility properties as an indication of contamination. He also took an active part in promoting science in local communities (taking active part in Baltic Science Festivals). Tomasz took part in various science conferences, among others: Arctic Summit Week – 2013, Geo-Ecosystems Offshore Conference and 35th Polar Symposium. During studies Tomasz took on a role in small Geotechnical consultancy as a Site Engineer.
After moving to UK in July 2015, Tomasz joined the Geo-environmental and Geotechnical consultancy in Manchester (2016) as a Graduate Consultant, promoted to Geo-Environmental Engineer in 2017. During his time there he achieved multiple qualifications while gaining experience on large scale site investigations in various types of industry all around the country.

Tomasz has worked for a wide range of clients from multinational corporations to local councils, small businesses and individual homeowners.
Out of work Tomasz is an experienced DIYer, with special interest in cars repair and renovation. He is also camping, caravanning and hiking enthusiast, who enjoys a good book about WW2.
